The God I Love

I know there is a God. He has a name which He has revealed to us. It is written as YHVH, although some write it as YHWH. There is an article with more information about His name here. He is the Creator mentioned in the Tanach/Old Testament of the Bible.

He made all things that exist. He has always existed and will always exist. I do not pretend to understand eternal existence. I am human. I live within time. God created time and lives outside of time. Yet, for a time, He took human form.

He sent His Son, Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah). Yeshua was fully God and fully man. I do not pretend to understand this, either. I just know that God does not lie. I can trust what the One True God says, which is not the same as trusting everything those who claim to follow Him say.

I also do not pretend to understand the idea of how God can be three, yet one. I know that Elohim, one of God’s name is plural. I know that God said “let US make man…”. I also know that Yeshua spoke with His Abba/Father. He prayed to Him and listened to Him, indicating that the Abba, had to be different from Him. He also said to pray to the Abba/Father in His name. This is clearly more than simply different manifestations of a single personality.

I am not God. I do not think like God, nor do I act like God. Yet, His Holy Spirit lives within me and flows out of me. This is another thing I do not pretend to fully comprehend. I only know that it is true…not how it can be. I also know that the receiving of His Holy Spirit brings with it power and responsibility.

I love Him. It is my desire to love Him with all my heart, all my soul, all my mind and all my strength. It is also my desire to obey Him in loving my neighbor as myself.

He is the Creator. He is worthy of all praise and worship. He wants us to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

I also know that there is a judgment coming, wherein He will protect those who love and serve Him. Those who have rejected Him will end up with a different fate.

I do hope you love Him, too!
