Our Sweet Kitty — the Huntress!

April 6, 2011

Here is our plump kitty with her tiny little tail stump sticking out. I can’t wait to stop living in an entry way…which is basically what our RV is. No matter how often I vacuum, the carpet is always littered with stuff dragged in.

She was sprawled out on her back with her legs spread-eagled. She started to roll over before I could get a photo. She is SO big!

Our kitty is a huntress! If you don’t like seeing cats eat their prey, don’t look at the following photo or video. Even as big and ungainly as she was, she could catch wild prey! She brought it to us. I offered her kitty food and she just held on to that mole. Like Dave said…it was fresh food! It probably also, for her anyway, tasted a whole lot better! I have to remind myself that, since the Fall, this is natural for her.

This is video of her eating. Yes…it is not your imagination…you CAN hear the “crunch”.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

That cat is going to be a blessing to have around!

I hope she trains all her kittens to be hunters! (And huntresses!)

A pregnant kitty is a much better hunter than a fat and lazy Tom cat who lays around eating and sleeping and prowling all night. When I lived on the farm our cats would catch moles but wouldn’t eat them. They ate the mice, birds and other prey, but not the moles. They would play with them and then just leave them laying where they dropped. It is rather disgusting and nauseating to watch a cat eat a live prey, but, that is the way things are in the natural world, Eat or Be Eaten!
    God Bless

Byron…it is the natural way in the fallen world. Thankfully, it was not so in the beginning and will not be so again in the future! Ugh! What she catches to eat is probably healthier than most pet foods anyway. I still need to get the birth and kitten photos up!
