Glory Shines — Poetry

April 6, 2010

This was written November 6, 2008. Just thought I would share it with you. No photo this time. Instead, I am giving you a work picture!

Glory Shines

Glory shines where eyes do fail.
Light bursts forth within the jail.
Imprisoned souls become set free
as walls fall down surrounding me.

Upon the waters I will ride.
Upon the crystal sea I’ll glide.
The King has come to reign e’ermore’,
while watching eyes roam aft and fore.

Searching hearts will one day find
the King of heart and soul and mind.
As earthly bodies fall away
the core of who we are will stay.

Arising fresh, new as the dawn,
with brand new bodies from Him drawn,
His hands upon our hearts, now warm,
He’s given us a brand new form.

Away! Away! Oh, can’t you see?
He’s coming now for you and me!
Will we be ready for His face?
For His judgment? For His grace?

This King over all will bring to naught
the troubles with which this world is fraught.

A never ending reign He’ll have,
as He applies the Healing salve
to broken hearts and broken minds,
as mem’ries of terror He unwinds.

We’ll sleep a while within His grace,
awakening in a whole new place.
Free from fear and death and sin,
we’ll ever stay in the place of “win”!
