Stem Cell Research & My Puzzlement!

January 6, 2009

I was reading about stem cell research recently. It is absolutely amazing the things that are being done with adult stem cells. They are able to bring about healing from some things that they have had no other treatment for previously.

Among other things, Mr. Bradley Richard Hughes Jr. says the following in his article “Real-World Successes of Adult Stem Cell Treatment:

“It is necessary to note that the power of adult stem cells is not nebulously potential, but tangible and real, as it has produced wonderful results in multiple cases. These have been documented in clinical trials, that is, treatments with human patients. With adult stem cells, physicians have successfully treated autoimmune diseases such as lupus, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, and rheumatoid arthritis.[3] Furthermore, adult stem cells have helped to avert corneal degeneration and to restore vision in cases of blindness.[4] They have also restored proper cardiac function to heart attack sufferers[5] and improved movement in spinal cord injury patients.[6]

It is also important to note that all of these successes have come exclusively from adult stem cell research. Embryonic stem cell research, which requires the destruction of early human life to acquire the cells, has not produced any successes in human patients.[7] The breakthroughs demonstrated by adult stem cells are detailed below.”

Another article that lists successful treatments is  “Non-Embryonic Stem Cell Successes”. In that article you can read about the following stories:

Adult Stem Cells Treat Rare Skin Disorder
Heart healing with bone marrow stem cells
Adult Stem Cells Hold Hope for Autoimmune Patients (Crohn’s Disease)
Childhood Leukemia

There were a number of other cases of successful treatment noted in:

(Post-Natal or Tissue Stem Cells, which are not derived from embryos)

There is more interesting info at Discover Adult Stem Cells.

One thing that baffles me is how the incredible successes of adult stem cells is being hidden while embryonic stem cells are being pushed to the front. Embryonic stem cells not only involve the destruction of human life, but they also do not have any real success stories…only empty promises!

The Anchoress also has a lot of information that she has compiled on the subject. As you can see by reading the links to the articles she has found, embryonic stem cells have actually caused nightmarish problems for the people they have been used on.

I find it very appalling that the huge…and I do mean HUGE…successes of adult stem cell treatments are largely ignored in the press. Supposedly, we have to do embryonic stem cell research in order to help sick people. However, if helping them was the REAL issue…they would be shouting the praises of the results of adult stem cell research. Methinks there is a darker side to things in all of this.

From our little RV on the hillside…remember, not everything you read in the press is true…and not everything true is reported in the press! Do the research. Seek out the truth.

Do this not only regarding this physical life, but also the spiritual. You cannot count on others to tell you what is truth. Go to the source directly. Go to Yahweh and ask Him to show you what is truth. And, of course, start with His Holy Word that He has given to us directly…the Bible. Also go to the Living Word…His Son…Yeshua/Jesus.The One True God will never steer you wrong!
