Our Story – Overview
We are a family of three who are kind of “semi-pioneering” on 7 acres in the MidWest. We have been living on our land since September 30, 2006 and in the RV since December 1, 2005. It was not our original goal to be living on land in our RV. We would have much preferred an old farm house. However, the journey of life taken us through twists and turns and here we are!
Our land has a wooded hillside, two creeks and a meadow. The road runs down the side of a small valley. On our side of the road we have a narrow strip of wooded land next to the creek we drive across to get to another narrow strip of trees and a meadow. Right above the meadow we have our RV on a pad cut into the hillside. We are blessed with a beautiful view looking out over our meadow and the valley to the opposite hillside. There are trees everywhere!
“Home” is a little (24 1/2′) Motor Home (RV). Our common living space is 11′ x 7 1/2′. That space is filled with a couch, cupboards, refrigerator, sink, stove, etc. At one end is an over the cab bed. That area is our son’s mostly. We have a few things up there facing the common area. At the other end is a tiny bathroom.
Throughout the blog, I try to share the challenges, the struggles, the joys and the blessings of our lifestyle. I also share our hopes and dreams. You will find photos and descriptions of our little place, along with photos of the kind that might interest 12 year old lads…things like closeups of bugs! Ick!
These posts are filled with my thoughts and ramblings about our life here, spirituality and whatever else pops up.
I hope that you will enjoy reading them and maybe even find a common ground with us somewhere.
Please feel free to post comments and/or questions. I will get to them as soon as I can. We would love to hear from anyone who is reading along here. If you are looking for “Terri” you have found her! Email: teacherof1boy AT yahoo DOT com. (Replace the “AT” and “DOT” with symbols.)
